Ogre Eyes Halloween Deviled Eggs are a hit in our house hold!!! There is still time to create this treat for your family or for a Halloween get together to!!! My son loves anything he calls “Awesomely Gross” and this was right up his alley! He ended up calling them Shrek eyes but all three kids thought they were great!! Plus they aren’t unheatlhy either!

Orge Eyes

Ingredients
  • One Dozen Boiled Eggs
  • **Food coloring to color outside of the boiled eggs if you wish**
  • 2 Avacodos – peeled, pitted and chopped fine.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • red food coloring for decoration
Instructions
  1. Halve the boiled eggs lengthwise and remove the yolks.
  2. Place yolks in medium mixing bowls, chopping slightly.
  3. Dip the tines of a fork in red food coloring and decorate the whites of the eggs.
  4. In mixing bowl with yolks, add the chopped avocado and lemon juice and mix well (a masher works great) until semi chunky. Stir in the yellow mustard and spices, mixing well.
  5. Fill a ziploc bag with mixture and cut a small hole in one corner and “pipe” the mixture into the eggs.
  6. Decorate with black olive or veggie pieces to create the “Ogre Eye” look.
  7. Eat and enjoy!

  1. This is just too cute! We’re going to have to have some of these and have fun creating monster faces on our plates! While there’s nothing wrong with candy in moderation, it’s also nice to see a Halloween recipe that’s not sweet.
