Front Porch Ideas for Fall

 With the weather starting to get cooler and the days becoming shorter, the kids have been asking about decorating for fall. Coming up with front porch ideas for fall is always lots of family fun. Pumpkins, flowers. lights, signs, it seems like everyone has their own unique front porch ideas for fall. Good thing Mom knows best, because I had my own front porch ideas for fall. wink..wink

 I was so excited to receive my DremelMicro 8050 in the mail….. and so was my son! Yes, my 6 year old was just as excited as I was. He’s my official DIY e ntrepreneur in training. Mom always has a sidekick, no matter what the DIY project may be. Mommy’s little helper is definitely not afraid to jump in and start crafting!

The Dremel Micro 8050, was the perfect tool for the mini makeover of our front porch. I knew I wanted to use the wood posts leftover from a pallet furniture build and the two pumpkins that  magically grew (pumpkin carving 2013 gone awry) in our yard, would add the final touch.  The Micro 8050 is the most “brilliantly powerful” and precise cordless rotary tool that Dremel has ever produced.

I sprayed a scrap of pallet wood white and left one piece natural; I thought it would be cute to engrave our street number on one piece and my son wanted to write “boo” on his.  The only money spent on this front door makeover was purchasing three mums to plant in my front planters. It’s great to repurpose leftover wood in to new projects. 

 My son had to help with this project; he was fascinated by the sleek appearance of the Dremel Micro and how easy it is to handle. I let him pick out his own sign and pumpkin to engrave, so that he could help, and I also did my own. 

The Dremel Micro 8050 can cut, carve, engrave, sand, grind, sharpen, clean and polish—helping you bring just about any brilliant project to life. I decided to use the Dremel Micro engraving bit to write the word “thanks” on my pumpkin… the other pumpkin was suppose to have the the word “giving” on it, but Ayden wanted something totally different.  I wrote the word on the pumpkin in permanent marker, making it a breeze to trace with the Dremel Micro 8050 engraving bit.

 After the signs and pumpkins were engraved, I then used my drill to put two holes on the top of each sign to thread twine threw. I put a little hook I found in my junk drawer onto the post and then sanded the signs to give them a more rustic look. This front porch makeover project was done in a few hours, even with a little helper.

 The battery life of the Dremel Micro 8050 is incredible!
