Have you ever gotten to that point in your life and said, “enough is enough”? It’s high time for me to spruce up my home and get a lifestyle makeover! I am simplifying and throwing the stress out the door! I am determined to do what makes me happy!
Step #1 is starting to address the style and decor in our home. We are on a mission to spruce up our home one room at a time. We started with the room that hasn’t had an update in 15 years or more! The dining room has just gone through a major facelift. Now the fun part starts, decorating that space. For some time I have wanted a coffee bar area. We like our coffee! Hot, cold, frozen, black, with cream and sugar, we can enjoy our morning coffee just about anyway you can think of. Flavored coffee is always on the menu too.
BEFORE
Thanks to Pinterest, I had so many ideas. Out of all my “pins” the dressers repurposed to coffee bars were some of my faves! That led to a thrifting hunt for the perfect dresser to convert to a coffee bar. It didn’t take long until I found a dresser with some curves and not a lot of intricate detail, that would look great after some new paint and TLC.
After
We decided to use black as the base color and use the blue paint color from our dining room walls for the accent color. The dresser had many layers of paint in a peachy color. It took many hours of sanding to remove the layers of paint. Thank goodness the family all chipped in. I love the way it turned out! What do you think?
Did you notice the lamp on the coffee bar? It’s the main reason, I decided to paint our dining room and start sprucing up our house! You can’t see the whole saying, “Enjoy the little things in life. Someday you will realize they were the big things” The coffee bar project was inspired by this lamp. My life was crazy and I was about to lose my mind. I wasn’t taking the time to do the things I enjoyed and losing focus on what was important, faith, family and friends! I needed to slow down and enjoy a cup of coffee and reconnect with my life. The coffee bar is the starting point of a much needed lifestyle redo.
Now that the final painting is complete, we have our much awaited coffee bar. I am slowly deciding how to accent and decorate the focal point of our new dining room. My first thought was all good coffee bars need to start with a great coffee pot. We headed out to our local Walmart and picked up a Mr. Coffee® Optimal Brew™ Thermal Coffee Maker.
While we there, I checked out the coffee aisle and was able to find Millstone® coffee in the flavored decaf. Hazlenut Creme and French Vanilla, it ws so hard to choose, I had to have both of them.
I was super excited to set up our new coffee bar with both a high quality coffee, Mr. Coffee® Optimal Brew™ Thermal Coffee Maker and embark on our new #coffeejourneys. I was amazed at the difference in taste of coffee when you brew with a drip coffee maker.
Look at the great features you get to enjoy from the Mr. Coffee® Optimal Brew™ Thermal Coffee Maker:
• Brews 10 cups in less than 7 minutes to ensure thorough extraction and full bodied flavor, which is considered by coffee experts to be the optimal time for extraction.
• Pour a cup of coffee while the coffeemaker is still brewing using the Pause n’ Serve feature.
• Ensure your coffee is hot and fresh when you need with the Fresh Brew timer.
• Coffee is kept hot with the vacuumed-insulated stainless steel carafe.
• Eliminating calcium build up is easy with the special cleaning cycle.
• Maintain the temperature of your carafe by using the removable water reservoir.
• Reduce chlorine in water by up to 97% with the built in water filtration.
• Fast and easy filling and cleaning with the side mounted removable filter basket
How awesome is all of that? My husband is normally drinks vanilla flavored coffee, but he was thrilled with the superior taste of the Millstone® coffee and is exclusively drinking it. I enjoyed both the Vanilla and the Hazelnut Creme Millstone® coffee, I still can’t decide which I enjoy most. Being able to enjoy a great cup of coffee in 7 minutes or less is definitely something I am looking forward to every morning. Mr. Coffee® Optimal Brew™ Thermal Coffee Maker is my new best friend. Finally, a chance to enjoy the little things!
Now I have a great coffee maker and delicious coffee to enjoy hot or cold, it’s on to round 2. Finding and creating the perfect accent decor for the coffee bar corner. I have a few ideas in mind, hopefully that post will be coming soon. #CollectiveBias
