You already know how much we love Chick-Fil-A Sauce and we had to make something yummy to dip in it. We just had to come up with a copycat Chick-Fil-A nuggets recipe.
Have you ever tried Chick-Fil-A Nuggets? They have a perfect crisp crunch and a hint of sweetness. That hint of sweetness was hard to duplicate, but I think we got pretty darn close. Now we can have our fave takeout food at home and the sauce to dip it in. I so wish we had a real Chick-Fil-A in our area.
I’ll bet you will surprised to know that a few of the secret ingredients in the Chick-Fil-A Nuggets recipe are pickle juice, confectioner’s sugar and peanut oil.
- Marinating
- 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into nugget size pieces
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- ½ cup milk
- ¼ cup dill pickle juice
- 1 egg
- Coating Mix
- 1-1/4 cups flour
- 2 Tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- Frying
- ½ cup peanut oil ( or less)
- Sprinkle chicken pieces with salt and pepper
- Whisk together egg, milk and pickle juice
- Add chicken pieces, cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Combine flour and, powdered sugar, salt and pepper in a large ziploc bag and shake well.
- Drain marinade from chicken and discard.
- Place chicken into the bag of coating mix.
- Shake until chicken is well covered.
- Heat 2 inches of oil in a cast iron skillet or dutch oven over medium-high heat.
- The oil is ready when a drop of water sizzles when added to the pan.
- Add nuggets carefully to the oil 8 - 10 at a time.
- Cook the chicken for 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Turn the chicken over and allow to cook for and additional 3 - 4 minutes.
- Drain well on a plate covered with paper towels.
- Allow to cool slightly and enjoy!!

I miss having a Chick-Fil-A near us, so we’ll have to try this one out. I’d have never thought about using powdered sugar.

Would love to get the chick - a filet’s sauce. Was told it was honey mustard & bbq sauce but don’t know what else.
