Apple stars sound so simple and easy!! My oldest did it when she was in preschool and it looked and sounded so easy to complete. However when I tried it with my four year old in the kitchen…. it was apparent that myself and this craft qualified as a Pinterest fail! A friend let me know I applied probably to much paint onto the apple.
The supply list for the Apple Stars was stuff I had on hand!
- An Apple
- A knife
- Paint
- And Paper
Now if you have never sliced open an apple horizontally there is a star in the middle!! I was worried I would pick up defective apples soI was quite relieved that when I sliced the apple I had a star!!!
The directions for the apple stars seemed so easy I doubted I could mess it up!
- Cut apple in half horizontally
- Put paint on the apple
- Use the apple as a stamp on paper to create your apple stars!
So easy that its a preschool or toddler craft yet I failed to do it correctly with my four year old!! However it was all good because she thought it was awesome I allowed her to play with food and paint with food!!!
Have you had a pinterest fail before?

i saw the title and HAD to look.. I couldnt figure out what you wee talking about. HAHA using apples as stamps for kids.. too cool. and yeah, doesnt work out as easy as it looks on pinterest.
Thank you for sharing a fail. It always looks so cute and easy then I try it and wham…something goes wrong. I don’t know what happens but often those “easy” projects just end up in the trash around my house. Better luck next time but hopefully you had a lot of fun.
LOL, I give you props for trying. You are a GREAT mother to even do something like this!
I have actually done this many times with pre-schoolers And had no problem at all! It looks like you might have used too much paint..
Great to know! We need a bit more practice. Thanks
