This month I learned an important lesson about sending boys to college! It’s VERY different than sending girls to college. When my daughter started her off to college list, I was in shock. Her list was pages long. Everything had to match, certain products had to be certain colors and the personal care items were endless! My son’s list not so much!
You can see what my son has on his mind, FOOD! That’s the most important thing he needs to go off to college. No matching bed clothes, no new clothes and definitely the bare minimum of personal care items. I think mom and dad will be adding just a few more items to his list.
I was able to pick up all the things on his list at Walmart. It definitely felt weird only having a few things in the cart. I walked around the grocery section and didn’t know what to buy. I ended up with some snack items and cereal. I think my son will have to accompany me so I get the “right” food. He isn’t thrilled when mom brings home the healthy things he should be eating. I didn’t bother buying what I thought he’d need to eat when he heads off to college.
Right now at Walmart, you will find the Schick Xtreme3 Disposable Razors in bonus packs! Yep, you get 6 razors for the price of 4. I love a bargain, so I had to grab two packages. My son has a baby face, so those razors will last him for a whole semester or maybe even two.
I tried to put my son’s college things in a few plastic totes, but he wasn’t having it. No luggage, no fluff! He wants to pack all of his things in the plastic Walmart bags! BOYS! He’s definitely not as much fun as my girl was to send off to college.
What’s on your Walmart off to college shopping list?
